Halle Tupuivao shares her story of causing major disruption in her year 13 class, as being a highly intelligent and an independent thinker, she felt rightfully upset as she noticed she was being encouraged to aim for factory jobs rather than becoming a lawyer, doctor or similar. Tupuivao went through a period of partying, drug abuse, an abusive relationship and at one stage found herself without a home. However with the support of her mother, Tupuivao got back on her feet and became a caring mother and huge force for grass roots community advocacy and change. Tupuivao is now studying law, while involved in many different initiatives supporting those less fortunate than herself.
