The original founder and host of The Nutters Club, Mike King joins Hamish Coleman-Ross and psychologist Ingo Lambrecht to talk about this year’s Gumboot Friday.
Mike says that research tells us that the number one support that can be offered to help an at-risk young person is to give them face-to-face counselling. His charity Key To Life, which pays for free counselling for youth, aims to raise $5 million through Gumboot Friday happening this week to try to meet a demand they simply can’t keep up with.
Key To Life currently has 3854 counsellors registered with them and have constant requests for more funding to provide these crucial services to young people.
