The story of Catherine Daniels’ childhood trauma and sexual abuse was kept secret for years. It wasn’t until she was nearly 50 that she realised her secrets made her unwell. She turned to creativity, and through writing and sculpture has found a release of the memories and emotions deeply suppressed since childhood.
She shares with Hamish Williams and mental health therapist Anna Elders about how art became therapy for her and how her exhibition The Secret Keeper with 70 of her sculptures has been incredibly impactful for not only her own healing but for those who comes to see the work.
