Improving Tools to Support Mental Health

Improving Tools to Support Mental Health

Anna Elders shares how she first learned about a powerful form of talk therapy called Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Elders describes the huge benefits she has seen using CBT in her work as a mental health nurse, and the huge potential she sees in more nurses being trained in CBT to support the vast amount of people with mental health challenges, many of whom are not currently getting adequate support. She has recently launched a free new online service called Just a Thought. The service offers evidence-based CBT online and is designed for people with mild-to-moderate symptoms of anxiety and depression. CBT teaches people how to control their emotions, thoughts and behaviour to improve their mental health. With host Hamish Coleman-Ross and psychotherapist Kyle MacDonald, thanks to NZ on Air.
