Mental health therapist Anna Elders intimately knows the journey of extremes of the female menstrual cycle. Premenstrual dysphoric disorder or PMDD is described as a condition where women can feel a lack of control of emotions, even tending outbursts of anger, violence and suicidal ideation generally seven to ten days before menstruation.
Anna speaks about her own personal experience, and how she has translated this into her work with clients as a mental health therapist.
Anna now screens all female mental health patients for PMDD and takes a holistic approach using supporting supplements to regulate hormones and balance mental health.
She shares with Hamish Williams.
