At age 18 Courtney Ryan became the sole care-giver for her father who was dying from renal failure. After he passed away, she tried Methamphetamine for the first time in an attempt cope with the grief of his loss. This began a rollercoaster of drug use, crime, gang affiliation and prison time for the next ten years.
Sitting in a prison cell aged 28, Courtney decided she wanted more for her life. She shares with Hamish Williams and psychotherapist Kyle MacDonald about recovery and how a 12-step programme saved her life.
